How to Complain about a Removal Company

This is just a small sample of what they have to offer. There`s a lot more than you can say about what DoNotPay does because they`re constantly adding new services. If you feel like you want to save time and sanity for yourself, you can turn to them to give you the help you need. Moving is tedious and always has been. Those who have to go through this process can tell you better than anyone how much grief they have to go through themselves, just to try to transport some of their belongings from one place to another. In addition, there is always the risk that things will not go as they hoped if they used a moving company. You can no longer file a complaint with AMSA because the American Moving and Storage Association no longer exists. However, the American Trucking Associations (ATA) has launched a relocation and warehousing conference that eventually allows customers to file complaints. How to File a Moving Fraud Complaint (U.S. Department of Transportation) The most common complaints are about companies known as “rogue movers.” These companies give you a quote and pick up your stuff, but they refuse to deliver it unless you pay anymore.

Sometimes interacting with the moving company is not enough to resolve your complaint. Fortunately, however, you have other options you can take. Consumers who wish to file a complaint against a moving company, broker or other housewares carrier can contact the FMCSA`s national consumer complaints database online or free of charge: 1-888-368-7238. This is one of the most common reasons for disputes between merchants and consumers. If your moving companies are late, first check the delivery date on the bill of lading. If the date is correct and your moving companies are delivered late, contact the moving company immediately and ask for more information. I made the unfortunate decision to contact Moving Pros US (broker) for our move from California to Tennessee. In turn, they had an executive move and storage (from Las Vegas) to move us, and they again hired the worst tractor truck driver to (hopefully) deliver our goods.

Is there a better word than “possessions” to describe your entire life and catalogued memories? The main reason for my assignment is that the moving truck driver and/or Executive Moving and Storage has now lost a lot of my stuff, very special and expensive and irreplaceable things. So much went wrong with this move: costs doubled, had to pay the truck driver in cash, the truck driver placed an ad on “Craigslist” to hire two men posing as moving companies (both had obvious injuries – broken arm, hernia and worse: one had just been released from a 15-year prison sentence in Texas, and both had drug problems), And as you can imagine, it put me, an elderly woman alone in the house, in a dangerous situation; BUT the worst part is that they lost a lot of my stuff. I miss a lot of items that are very, very important to me, I also have damaged and broken furniture, yes, but the loss of a cedar box full of memories of my parents and grandparents is more than I can bear. The loss of these objects caused me great incomprehensible sorrow. Most of these items are very special and close to my heart and us, especially with the loss of my mother in November. These are not just “household items”, some of them are irreplaceable, priceless, unique and precious souvenirs. Some of the missing items date from the early 1920s and belong to my mother and father: for example, my father`s baby clothes, my mother`s wedding hat, my grandmother`s handmade blanket, special souvenirs, etc. They also lost our precious and unique works of art from our now deceased parents. It all started with a lie: Moving Pros US told me that a truck with 3-4 guys would load my stuff into a big van and take turns to get me to my new home in TN. I left CA a week early just to make sure I got to my new home before them, especially since I drive slower and couldn`t drive for a long time.

Well, it was a joke, Executive Moving and Storage appeared in my old house, around the time I arrived and my new home, HOWEVER, only to find out that they`re going to load the van, yes, but then they`re going to take that truck to their “hub” in Las Vegas and unload everything in a warehouse, then load everything again on a semi-trailer with other people`s property. Well, and what if the semi-trailer (from hell) gets lost, doesn`t want to go to your house and tells you that you have to rent a U-Haul to have your stuff removed from the semi-trailer, then placed in the U-Haul and then take it to your home.9 miles further, well, it will be – or has become a terrible nightmare, And that`s what happened to me. I had absolutely no idea there would be another different moving company. Who the hell is Executive Moving and Storage? Then I discover that Moving Pros US is a broker and Executive Moving and Storage is the real moving company. But hey, I didn`t have a chance to check the reviews, licenses, etc. of this company. Ok, well, maybe it can`t be that bad, they are now at my house and charging everything. Well, then it starts to get ugly, this truck of my stuff arrives at the Las Vegas warehouse and is unloaded, Executive Moving and Storage rents a tractor-trailer (which, by the way, is an independent contractor – and they won`t give you the name, even if you ask), loads your stuff onto the truck, and heads to Tennessee. It gets uglier, the truck driver gets lost (doesn`t follow your instructions), says he doesn`t want to go to your house “semi-stops”, rented you a U-Haul, tells you you have to give him money, you also have to pay the `Craigslist` movers $200 ea and all your stuff is unloaded, loaded over and over again on the U-Haul. Then, once all your stuff is out of the trailer (or appears to be, or maybe he just didn`t want to be there anymore), he leaves.

Yes, the truck driver is leaving, he just left you parked in front of your house with a U-haul full of “some” (you`ll find out later) of your stuff and left you with those shady fake moving companies. It turned out that this freelance truck driver is the one who hired the “Craigslist movers”, he let them into my house, unload and load my belongings. This truck driver made me believe that these guys were executives until I figured it all out some time later. So I was pretty panicked by their behavior and now I realized they weren`t really what I thought they were, so I paid them and told them to leave and not come back. The next day, I received a very good recommendation from the wonderful company U-Haul for two “much more professional” moving companies to come and help me. Really, if you ever need to rent a U-Haul in Crossville, TN, go see this guy, Joel, at Shell station, he`ll direct you to the best movers – they really saved at least part of my mind. They did everything the moving company should have done, moved everything into my house, quickly efficiently, reassembled the furniture – voila, and it still costs $600. They were worth it. But wait, there`s more, the ugliest: I`m starting to realize that a lot of my stuff is missing, that it`s not there.

OMG, I start looking for furniture and counting: I`m missing a dining chair (part of a set), a bedside table (part of a set), missing a dresser (everything was packed with objects), my mother`s box of hope (cedar box), oh no not that, melt. I then had to call Executive Moving and Storage in tears, where is my business?? The girl was a little nice said “Send me a list and a description of what is missing”. Well, that was weeks ago. I`ve now discovered more missing things and lots of missing boxes (packaged items) that keep growing, as I remember (like waking up in the middle of the night thinking about something), or maybe you need to use something and then realize it`s not there. It was in one of the boxes. I have now made numerous phone calls with Executive Moving and Storage to inquire about the condition and location of my missing and lost belongings. I also sent a lot of emails. The lack of response, the lack of action, the lack of reminders, the lack of email returns, and the lack of concern on their part led me to file a complaint against them. I couldn`t be more frustrated. They literally told me they were too busy to look for my items or do research to try to find my items, “they`re busy loading trucks,” they`ll take care of them “when they have time.” And when I ask about the driver of the tractor-trailer, they just say, “He`s an independent contractor.” They take absolutely no responsibility.
