The New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) is a non-profit law firm that provides free and comprehensive civil law services to poor and near-poor individuals and families residing in New York City. From its Manhattan headquarters and numerous admission centers in all five boroughs, NYLAG provides representation, impact and class actions, counseling, and community building to New Yorkers who otherwise could not afford legal assistance. Specialized legal services are provided to immigrants, seniors, victims of domestic violence, the chronically ill, children with special needs, low-income workers, social assistance recipients, Holocaust survivors and many others. The New York Legal Assistance Group is also home to LegalHealth, a division whose mission is to provide free legal assistance to low-income New Yorkers with serious health problems in hospitals and community health organizations in the five boroughs.
