They may not reflect the most recent legal developments, and Cisco makes no representation or warranty that they are complete, accurate or current. This information is subject to change without notice. Create an app on developer.webex.com/ to retrieve data from your Webex Teams account. For step-by-step instructions on creating the application, see the Merge1 Third-Party Connectors User Guide. Administrators can limit the number of messages and files stored by configuring a data retention policy. When this threshold is reached, the aging contents are cleaned. In Microsoft Teams, an entire team or selected users can be legally banned. This ensures that any messages exchanged within these teams (including private and shared channels) or messages exchanged by these individuals can be discovered by compliance officers or team administrators in the organization. Compliance teams may require that certain parts of electronic communications be recorded during a meeting, such as chats, transcripts, or messages, but not the associated audio or video recording. Administrators may have disabled these features because they could not be stored, managed, and backed up individually.

Now, WebEx users can capture chats and messages in WebEx meetings without having to capture or archive the video or audio component of the meeting. By selectively archiving our partner Theta Lake, Webex administrators can select individual parts of a Webex meeting and save them for later retrieval. Compliance administrators can view and download a list of previous reports. You can then import the reports into the eDiscovery tool of your choice for legal investigations. Optionally, compliance administrators can also exclude attachments from their downloads to examine only messages and identify domains or users of interest. Reports are available for 10 days. Large reports in the multi-GB range can be generated and downloaded. Compliance officers can also view a list of past reports, download them in EML format, and then export the reports to an eDiscovery tool of their choice for legal investigations. Reports are available for 10 days. Pro Pack: Users with a compliance officer role in an organization can retain all forms of relevant content associated with users when litigation is reasonably foreseen, regardless of the organization`s retention policy.

Compliance officers can create a legal case and legally block custodians (users), view and upload questions, and release questions. Legal retention supports Webex Messaging and Webex Meetings content. Compliance officers can use the Internet-based eDiscovery Search and Retrieval Console to retrieve data created by users in their organization for the purposes of a criminal investigation. Data can be searched using email addresses (up to 500) for existing and deleted users and zone IDs (up to 5). The interface also allows compliance officers to set a time window for the report. Create a query. You can adjust the suspension if you want more granularity in the retention policy. For example, you can specify keywords to search for or add additional conditions that must be met for the suspend state to take effect. Go to the Hold tab in the top menu and click Create to create a hold. When you put a user or team on hold, all messages exchanged by those users are retained.

When you create an incident, you will see the option to place mailboxes or sites in the archive. To keep message content in private channels, you must remember user mailboxes (members of a private channel). If you use the eDiscovery tool to search for messages through private channels, you must search the user`s mailbox. As mentioned earlier, private channel conversations are stored in users` mailboxes, not in the group mailbox associated with the parent team. Select the location. Select whether you want to apply the lock to a user or an entire team (a lock cannot currently be applied to individual channels). When a user is pending, all of their messages are retained, including messages from 1:1 chats, group chats, and private channels. Messages from the default and shared channels are retained when the parent team is selected. Go to the Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal. When you create an incident, you will see the option to place mailboxes or sites in the archive.
